The Transition: Shirt Edition

The transition between summer and fall clothing can be a tough one. I'm going to do a series this week on transition your wardrobe from summer to fall.

I love boots and cozy sweaters, but September, and even October weather can be really unpredictable, so I hate to break them out too early. I like to pick light pieces that I can throw a cardigan or a light jacket over for my walk in the morning, but can be worn alone in the afternoon. All of the below would look great with jeans and nude flats, gold sandals or boots, depending on the temperature. Do you have a "go to" transition shirt?

Sibs

Happy Sibling Appreciation Day!

One of my favorite things to do when I come home is stay up late catching up with my brother. I'm lucky to have a sibling I'm so close with and really enjoy spending time with.

Quote of the week

I get quoteland.com's quote of the week in my inbox every Monday. Here's what I got this morning:

Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you... while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.

                                                                       -John Muir

What an awesome quote for a gorgeous Monday. This is the view I was thinking of when I read the email:

I took this photo at a mountain top wedding in Breckenridge last September.

I have so much love for fall I don't even know what to do with myself.

Countdown until I can start my Halloween countdown: 9 days

The Evolution of Hair, as told by iPhoto

I was looking at photos the other day while I was waiting for a source to call me back and I realized something: Ryan and I have had an interesting hair history in the course of our relationship.

He had short hair, I had medium hair. We both had medium hair. We both had long. He had long, I had short. Now we both have short.

Miles to go before I sleep

The woods are lovely, dark and deep
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
Robert Frost, Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening

Replace "woods" with "my bed" and "promises to keep" with "sources to call" and that accurately describes my life.

I took this picture outside a Chateaux in France. Talk about a long driveway.

DMB

I'm studying with friends right now and "Crash Into Me" by Dave Matthew Band just came on Pandora and it reminded me of getting ready for grade school.

While my brother and I ate our waffles and sipped our coffee (yes, we were coffee drinking children) my dad always played music. We listened to Dave, the B-52s, Indigo Girls and U2.

It was nice to slow down a bit in the midst of the morning rush. What a good memory.

Sorry this is short. You have no idea how many blog posts I've started this week and couldn't finish. I promise my writing talent isn't going to waste. Check it, friends.
